Naval Aircrewman · Aviation Warfare Systems Operator

While in the Navy I was trained as a Naval Aircrewman and Aviation Warfare Systems Operator. In execution of these duties I logged over 1500 hours flying in P3 Orions. My command deployed 3 times and operated from 3 different continents.

At that period of time, individual commands did not have dedicated IT staff and instead assigned anyone willing and able to manage the local information systems as a collateral duty. I was one of these individuals.

So, I trained and worked as a network, email, and systems administrator. We managed day to day operations, collaborated with upstream departments and systems, and coordinated transfers of systems and operations going to and from deployed duty stations.
